HeyPhone project - reminder of current status

Post by David Gibson » Mon 31 Jan 2011 12:39

The HeyPhone project is now quite old. It was back in 2001 that 50 HeyPhone sets were issued to the UK's cave rescue groups. Documentation is available on the web at http://bcra.org.uk/creg/heyphone/

The HeyPhone project is not actively supported by CREG. CREG has no brochures, no circuit boards, no components and no built units for sale. The HeyPhone is entirely a "build-it-yourself" project. The only support available is the documentation on the HeyPhone web site, and any "public" help you may receive in response to posting a message to the CREG discussion forum at http://bcra.org.uk/cregf which is what you are reading now.

The web-site dates, for the most part, from material produced during the period 2002-2004. Although still largely correct, the documentation may now be out-of-date with respect to corrections, obsolete components, updated techniques and peripheral apparatus. As time goes on, it becomes increasingly unlikely that any updates will be made to this documentation.

The CREG discussion forum receives very little traffic and it is perhaps unlikely that you will receive a response. It is possible that you might have some success in posting a message to the UK Caving web forum at http://ukcaving.com/board/index.php or to the Cave Electronics mailing list at http://lists.altadena.net/mailman/listinfo/speleonics
