I'm having problems with my emails on my blackberry. They were working
fine but I changed the password because the site told me to due to brute
force attacks and now with the new passwords they won't work on my
phone, tried with the old passwords too and still nothing.
Hi Steve,

See if you can login to your webmail from a normal PC.

If you can't, use the cPanel to reset your webmail password and try again.

Once you are sure the password works you can update your Blackberry.

OK

Which web browser are you using?

What address (url) are you going to?

What login are you using?

Using chrome but trying to add the mail to my blackberry emails so they come direct to there rather than having to log onto the website to check them. I had this working before but it's stopped recently.

going to webmail.newrevolutionmusic.com on my laptop to log on.

and use either gigs@/info@/label@/mgmt@ and all of them work on my browser but won't work on my phone.

The fact that you can login with your browser proves you have the right login and password and also that the email system is working on the server.

The most likely cause is a configuration error on the Blackberry.

What settings does the Blackberry require and what answers are you giving (excepting your login & password)?

It's literally just the email address and password then it used to do the rest and configure it automatically.
It gives me the option to set up the server manually also which I tried using the setting provided in the cpanel but still no luck. It asked for these:
- email address
- password
- POP/IMAP or Outlook Web Access (Exchange)
- email server
- user name

And what values are you putting in for those manual settings?

Hi Stu,

I've temporarily increased your webspace by 300MB because the full mailboxes have used it all up. That'll cost you £5 if you want to keep it, otherwise I will reduce it again. Let me know. Prices here

I created a test email account on your domain (test@newrevolutionmusic.com). It worked fine with Webmail. I don't have a blackberry so I used my own smartphone. It worked fine once I had corrected a spelling error. You have to type it exactly as seen. That proves the web server is working as expected.

The details in your previous post are correct except I can't prove the password since I don't know it, nor do I want to know it.

There's not a lot more I can do for you without having the phone in my hand. The problem is with the blackberry configuration. The details for your blackberry in the previous post are correct however there might be other options I'm unaware of. Also the way it integrates into Blackberry's own email servers might complicate the issue. I don't think you should be using the enterprise server connection for example.

Almost certainly it is a simple option you've missed or spelling error when configuring the phone.

Is the wireless network connected and working? The Blackberry website suggests that is important.

If none of that works then sorry but you need to talk to Blackberry Customer Services.

Ste Pearce wrote:Cool it's working now! Cheers, must of just been because it was over the 200mb limit, but it wouldn't let me log on to free up space because it was over the limit! Is that something you can change or is that down to the cpanel software?

Ste
Glad it is now working.

Sorry, I can't change the over limit behaviour.

I do need to know if you want to keep the extra 300MB?

Hey David,
Sorry when I meant it's working I meant that the emails were working again however I still can't set up my email to receive it on my blackberry phone.

Hi Ste,

you need to read my reply of the 20th March above carefully.

If that doesn't help you will need to talk to Blackberry Customer Services.
