Just as an update, the closing date has now passed. As the link to the advert in the Peak Advertiser given in my previous post is no longer live, the full text is below.
Thanks Janet Nash
Library Assistant
The BCRA is the charitable arm of the British Caving Association. Its primary role is the support and promotion of the scientific study of caves through grant funding, publications
and the organisation of field trips etc. As part of this role, we run the British Caving Library from Glutton Bridge near Longnor. The Library provides a library, information and research service to all members of the international caving community and others who have an interest in speleology. It was established at Glutton Bridge in 2008.
We now require a library assistant to help the Librarian to develop services further. The post will be based at Glutton Bridge, but occasional travel to Matlock will also be required.
Duties include assisting the librarian with establishing and maintaining the collection of books, journals and papers, developing services and general administrative work. As we
also sell our own publications, the postholder will assist with stock-keeping and dispatching materials as needed. Some lifting and moving of boxes will be involved.
This is a part time post of nominally 5 hours per week with employee status. Salary is calculated on an hourly basis and is competitive for the type of work concerned.
If you are interested in applying for the post, please send your cv and a covering letter explaining your interest to the Librarian, Janet Nash, at the address below.
Your application should arrive by 12 May 2008.
