* BCRA Caves and Karst online seminar, 14 June
The next of our monthly online seminars takes place on Monday 14 June at 19.30 BST. This series of talks takes place on the second Monday of each month, in support of the International Year of Caves and Karst (IYCK). The June talk is "English cave SSSI — extent and monitoring" With: John Gunn, Andrew Hinde, Hannah Townley, David Webb, Linda Wilson. For a summary, and for information on how to log in via Zoom, please go to http://bcra.org.uk/seminars2021.html
* Field trip to Arnside and Silverdale AONB, 17 July
Assuming that Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, there will be BCRA field trip to study the karst of the Arnside and Silverdale AONB on Saturday 17 July, led by Phil Murphy. 15 places are available for this trip and you will need to book in advance. For information, please see the BCRA News Forum at http://bcra.org.uk/forum, or our Facebook page.
* CREG Journal 114 now online
CREG journal 114 is now online at http://bcra.org.uk/cregj?latest It will be posted to subscribers within the next week. Visitors to the online site will notice that each article now has a "voting button" against it - the CREG team wants to try to get a feel for which topics readers like (or dislike), or want to see more (or less) of.
* Membership Renewals
This is just a further reminder that the BCA/BCRA membership team is short-staffed at the moment, due to Wendy Williams' illness. Therefore we have temporarily suspended the issuing of membership cards, and that includes your BCRA card with the online ID on it. That means that, when you renew, you are advised to pay online so that a new ID is issued automatically. If you pay "offline" by cheque or bank transfer there is likely to be a (possibly lengthy) delay before your application is processed. Any difficulties - please email me at membership@bcra.org.uk
