CREG field meeting, 1-2 November 2014

Post by David Gibson » Mon 15 Sep 2014 13:44

In CREG journal 87, Rob Gill wrote...

We're proposing an informal field meeting for the weekend of 1st/2nd November, most probably near Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales.

Current plans include some field demonstrations of portable power generation - including pedal power, some experiments to improve earth electrode efficiency with various environmentally benign liquids, some underground HF data and speech transmissions and, assuming it is working in time, a 9kHz SSB cave radio. But those are just for starters and we'd like anyone who has something to demonstrate, or needs some extra hands with tests and experiments to come along.

So, whether you've something to show, or are just curious, please come along. To find out more, you can monitor the CREG Forum (which you are reading now) or sign up to the CREG-announce mailing list (see http://list.bcra.org.uk).

This is to confirm that Rob and Mike have arranged accommodation at the Bradford Pothole Club establishment near Horton in Ribblesdale (postcode BD24 0EU) for the nights of 31 October and 1 November. There will be plenty of room, but it would be very helpful to know if
you would like to use this accommodation (and on which nights). Field activities will likely be split between two locations and they will
forward a draft timetable in a few days. Please don't hesitate to post here or you can PM Mike or Rob if you have any queries/suggestions/offers etc.
