Caves of Wharfedale and Littondale - now online at http://bcra.org.uk/pub/dales/
The Wharfedale and Littondale chapter of Caves & Karst of the Yorkshire Dales: volume 2 is now on-line after some delay necessitated by recent discoveries in Boreham Cave. Correction and improvements will of course be welcomed by the editors. BCRA Members will need to use the User-ID and access code given on your membership card. Non-members can purchase an ID. (see notes at foot of this message). Further chapters of the Yorkshire Dales book will follow during the next two years, as and when they are prepared. A printed volume will be published when all the chapters are completed, and the target date for that is late 2015.

Exploring the Limestones of South Devon
This is a new book, published by the William Pengelly Cave Studies Trust, and launched at their joint field meeting with BCRA last month. It is written and presented in a similar style to BCRA's Cave Studies Series booklets; A5, 126 pages in full colour throughout. This book is available from WPCST and also from BCRA. It is not yet shown on our web site (because I havent got round to it yet), but if anyone is particularly eager for a copy, please go to http://bcra.org.uk/bookshop/misc.html to order a copy. The price is £8.00 plus £1.50 postage to the UK. There is a 20% discount on the cover price for members of BCRA. The book will be available on the BCRA stand at Hidden Earth.

Using your BCRA user-ID and access code
If you have not used your BCRA user ID before, please read http://bcra.org.uk/pub/online.html#info to find out how to interpret the info on your membership card. Access to C&KS is now free to everyone so, if you have mislaid your membership card, this doesnt matter. When you attempt to download C&KS you will be asked to login, or to register for a free user-id, valid for a month. However... a free user-id does NOT allow you to download any content *apart* from C&KS. A number of people seem to be trying to use a free-id to download the Dales book - this wont work! If you are not a BCRA member, you can purchase a monthly id for £8 (or an annual id for £30), which will allow you to download all BCRA's online content, including the Dales book and the CREG journal.

Bookings now open for Hidden Earth
Bookings are now open for the national caving conference, Hidden Earth, which will be in Leek, Staffordshire, on 26-28 September. http://hidden-earth.org.uk. Apologies for the late opening of the bookings office this year. Online bookings will close one week before the event, and offer you a modest reduction in the entry fee in exchange for a possibly shorter queuing time at the event. Please note that Hidden Earth T-shirts and the Conference Dinner must be booked in advance this year. Also, if any clubs require a club stand, please give us as much notice as possible - three weeks, or your pitch is not guaranteed.

BCRA Photo Salon online entry form now available
The online entry form for the Photo Salon, to be held at Hidden Earth, is now available. Follow the links at http://hidden-earth.org.uk/competitions/forms.html. Please note ... IMPORTANT ... there will be NO entries on the day forthe photo salon this year. This will inevitably catch some people out, so please spread the word.
