BCRA Cave Science Symposium 2013. Saturday 9 March 2013, Keyworth, Notts.
Presentations of short papers on Cave & Karst Science topics. This one day Symposium will take place on Saturday 9 March 2013 at the British Geological Survey in Keyworth, Notts. The host will be Andy Farrant and the partial theme will be Karst Science in Jurassic Limestones. It is hoped to include a visit to
the BGS archive facility during the event, where BCRA's archive documents are now stored. Contributions are invited on any aspect of cave or karst science or caving technology. Poster papers, displays or preliminary presentations by postgraduate and undergraduate students are especially welcome. Each year the symposium covers a wide range of cave science topics, including geology, hydrology, speleogenesis, speleothems, biology and archaeology. Contact: Trevor Faulkner. t.faulkner@bcra.org.uk

Karst Science field meeting. Sunday 10 March 2013, Keyworth, Notts.
a) A one-day field meeting on the Lincolnshire karst. The leader will be Professor Tim Atkinson. Attendance will be by pre-registration by email. b) A half-day BCRA field meeting to the Sandstone Caves of Nottingham. The leader will be Dr. Tony Waltham. Attendance will be by pre-registration by email.

BCRA Cave Technology Symposium 2013. Weekend 20-21 April 2013, South Wales NOW CANCELLED
Presentations of short topics on cave surveying, electronics, computing, lighting, photography, cave radio, radio-location and other aspects of caving "technology". Contributions are invited on any aspect of caving technology in the form of short lectures, poster papers, or more informal practical sessions. Cave survey posters and cave photographs are particularly welcome for display. The symposium will include presentations from some of BCRA's special interest groups: the Cave Surveying Group (CSG) and the Cave Radio & Electronics Group (CREG). BCRA Field Trip. Saturday, 25 May, 2013. Ingleton. NOW POSTPONED
The Significance of the Porcellanous Bed to Cave Formation in the Yorkshire Dales.

Karst Science Field Meeting. Saturday 15 June 2013, Derbyshire
Provisional. This field meeting will be associated with BCA's AGM weekend, which is planned to include a party at the Rotary Club in Castleton. The field meeting may visit the karst sites in Dowell Dale, adjacent to Glutton Bridge, assisted by Jenny Potts and Orpheus Caving Club, and may include an 'open day' at the caving library at Glutton Bridge.
