Format of Data Files

This is a discussion and self-help forum for people who are using data generated by the British Cave monitoring Centre at Poole's Cavern in Buxton. Please do not post large files here - it is expressly NOT a file-sharing forum.

Format of Data Files

Post by David Gibson » Sat 25 May 2019 15:41

The online archive contains four types of files
  • *.JF -- TinyTag raw data file
  • *.CSV -- CSV export file
  • *.CSV -- CSV incremental exports, which have brackets in the file name. These are not really worth bothering with, when the full downloads are available.
  • *.txp -- Restart reference lists. These files are used by our upload software, when it fetches the data from the TinyTag gateway. They do not contain any information of use to users.
The process by which we fetch the CSV files is explained in the TinyTag documentation; see section 2.7, "exporting data" in TinyTag connect User Manual
