Lidar Lite 2 module

I've been looking at this laser distance module and wondering if anyone had any experience with it, or at least the version 1 model. Trying to avoid re-inventing the wheel.

If not, I'll pick one up later in the year to work with. 500Hz at 1cm with a 1/2 degree spot divergence seems adequate for collecting some meaningful data.
