Balch Cave

Post by tarquinwj » Mon 18 Nov 2019 10:13

NOTE: Balch Cave is now in several sections, with their connections removed by quarrying. These are still referred to as one cave, even though they are essentially now 4 entirely separate caves.

a. Balch Cave - Aven Series
b. Aven Chamber, near the top of rock slope on right (south) side of the chamber, towards the drop into Annex Aven
c. While lumps and bead clusters
d. Angular rocks in a breakdown chamber, mostly covered by modern stalagmite flow
e. Pictures to follow
f. Very little exposed, most coated in modern stalagmite, hope there is enough to be useful. 365787,147546, estimated 30 metres below surface, but exact altitude not known.
