Shell on http://cave-registry.org.uk/

Post by Andrew » Mon 24 Sep 2012 08:06

Hello

It appear that shell access has been removed for the user cavereg

Code: Select all

Shell access is not enabled on your account!
If you need shell access please contact support.
Connection to cave-registry.org.uk closed.
Please can it be restored, it is needed to do SVN copy, updating the web from the SVN repository and the preferred way to manage new user, the cpanel is just far too confusing.

Hi Andy,

Your shell access is restored. It annoyingly turns itself off after any upgrade.

I disagree that creating and deleting users with cPanel is too confusing compared to using the command line. It took quite a while to make the SVN setup compatible with it. However, your choice, you are running the show.

In the long run it would be useful to develop some simple scripts with an html frontend to manage user and svn functions.

On the list, there are a few programs out there that sort of do this, just need to find one that fits our needs
