Re: cave-registry svn version
Nothing that I have can say for definite, but prefer to avoid getting to that situation. When moving China data to the server, the uid changed, so people could not use svn relocate, which had worked fine for the NorthernEngland move, so I was looking for why when I noticed the version differences be...

cave-registry svn version
Hi
I notice that svn version is 1.6.11 (r934486). It appears that 1.6 series went up to 1.6.23, but is no longer supported. svn is on 1.8 series and only supports one minor version behind, with security fixes, that is 1.7.
Suggest that we scedual an upgrade,
thanks

Re: Request for more space for Cave Registry
The figures are different to what I was told also the maths doesn't seem to add up. Can we be more precise? I do not have direct access to the china svn server that the data is coming. so sorry no. Best figure I have is that it is 5.6Gb on disk with 2500 odd change sets, and this is only one of the...

Re: Request for more space for Cave Registry
Well, obviously it depends on what youre doing. For your 'specialised' uses it may not work, but its fine for lots of other things where you are just fetching data - e.g. scans of publications, photos, e.g. http://bcra.org.uk/pub/candks/catalogue.html But all these pieces of data, deserve and will ...

Re: Request for more space for Cave Registry
Fortunately svn does not work with cloud storage. Why do I say fortunately. Well, it is crazy, storage should be cheap as chips (pick your variety) The BCA is a part of the cloud, why would I want to put my data on a different server. Cloud storage does have its uses, but not if you own, or rent a s...

Re: Request for more space for Cave Registry
Hi Could we have some more please, and lots, just tried to port the hmg data that I am told that has been agreed, well ran out of space very quickly. I would suggest another 20Gb as the hmg is at 8 and we will have 5Gb+ of Matienzo data coming in. thanks Andrew PS cpanel is not responding, asks for ...

Mercurial on Cave-registry
hi CUCC are thinking of moving their data accross to the site. Due to not having web access on expo they are keen on distributed repositories, and are currently using Mercurial. This is probably very useful to other clubs, so I think that we should look at it. There are two main possibilities:- 1 Ad...

Re: Request for more space for Cave Registry
Hi Could we up the space available to 10 Gb, it looks like we are about to get another 5 Gb of surveying data in the registry (I do not want to say from where on an open forum until it actually happens, so as not to cause embarresment/pressure if it does not work out, but would like it ready, as the...

Re: http://cave-registry.org.uk/ svn access denied
Thanks, must have accidentally deleted that group, any chance you could create the group for me, I cannot get access on poor internet connection. Group should contain, me and john
lesson learnt, was making copies of password file, not sure, why I did not do the auth file.
How did you spot that?

http://cave-registry.org.uk/ svn access denied
Hello I do not think that this is anything that I have done, but the repositories are now not accessable without a username and pw, but none of the usernames and pw work, including the admin one? For example http://www.cave-registry.org.uk/svn/WookeyCatchment/ gives this error Authorization Required...

I aim to cater for all valid preferences, however bizarre. Easier for me, not better, but definitely not worse
Thanks for the quick response

http://cave-registry.org.uk/ additional database
Hello I am looking at adding a front end to the above site to manage the svn users and permissions. Probably will use http://svnmanager.org/ However, it requires a database, and currently the site is only allowed one that is used by the joomla install. Could probably mangle it to use the same databa...

Re: Shell on http://cave-registry.org.uk/
On the list, there are a few programs out there that sort of do this, just need to find one that fits our needsDavid Cooke wrote:Hi Andy,
In the long run it would be useful to develop some simple scripts with an html frontend to manage user and svn functions.
