... er,... because there are LOADS* of non-club cavers who recognise the sterling work which CSCC do and the benefits to all those blessed and lucky enough to come within touching distance of the holy ground upon which the Council operates and they, too, quite rightly and wisely wish to claim for th...

Not far off a whole year since a post has featured in the Devon & Cornwall section. Should we club together and send them a computer?

Maybe it's a battle that doesn't need fighting - why push at an open door? If UK/Regional Caving administration is peopled by volunteers, are these volunteers barred from helping because they've not got the right footwear on for hoop-jumping? I warrant that being a member of BCA/BCRA is bona fide en...

Re: Who should join the CSCC?

That being the case, why do you think that anyone might be demanding this? Ahem, 14576 views of this thread suggest that perhaps it is of some passing interest. Also, as a non-club member but as a CSCC Officer is my position tenable or is it a pre-requisite that Officers must be a member of a club ...

The UKCaving forum is still working 100% fine if you are a Mozilla Firefox user; it appears to be a problem for Internet Explorer users. However, as there are only 3 people presently logged in to UKCaving it's a bit quiet!..... I guess no-one else can get on board for the reasons cited in this thread.

Poor Air, Mendip: 2007

Had first report of poor air on Mendip in 2007; given that this winter is so exceptionally mild, unless we have a cold snap there is a strong likelihood that 2007 will see a return of the build up of poor air in some of the "usual suspect" locations. However, for starters here's what we kn...

SSSIs and Preliminary Examination digs

What's the score with gaining permission to do exploratory/initial digging within SSSIs to determine whether or not a dig is a worthwhile enterprise? - is it standard procedure to obtain full digging permission (and, if so, how?: is this possible?; is it bureaucratic?; is it supported by EN or blank...
